When Grace Holliday received her high school reunion invitation promising a killer reunion, she didn’t think they meant literally.
Grace Holliday has come back home to Rabbit Falls, Colorado. Regrettably, not as successful or as wealthy as she had intended, when she left her small town, ten years before. Fired from her job, evicted, and having to move back in with her parents was not how she pictured her life turning out, and the last thing she wants is to attend her ten year high school reunion. Unfortunately, her twin sister has other ideas.
Determined to settle an old score, her sister drags Grace back to their old school, intent on humiliating her rival. Despite the best efforts of the planning committee, things quickly go from bad to deadly and before the night is through, one of Grace’s classmates will be murdered.
All Grace wants to do is put the horrible night behind her, go home, and scour the want ads. Unfortunately, the only job available is the only one she doesn’t want figuring out who killed the Reunion Queen.
Deadly Reunion Grace Holliday Cozy Mystery Book 2 edition by Elisabeth Crabtree Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
Deadly Reunion had a certain amount of charm, definitely cozy and clean, but the characters were deadly annoying for a couple of reasons: 1. Too many zany and bizarrely over-the-top characters. We all love a good drama queen or nut job (they add flavor) but there were about four characters that were just ridiculous at all times: Hope, Kyle, Steve, and Beth. Too much! 2. The overly exaggerated antics took center stage a lot and overshadowed the mystery. After the initial reunion I was spent! I used my remaining patience hoping that the interludes would not be long so that we could get back to "detective" work and solving the mystery.Despite my hang-ups, I would try another book - I did like Grace. Unfortunately Kyle seems to be a repeat offender (and very immature) but hopefully in subsequent books he is the only star coo-coo in the story. The editing issues were not glaringly obvious for me like some of the other reviewers. So I gave it three stars, however, if everyone in this book makes a repeat appearance I will call it quits.

Deadly Reunion Grace Holliday Cozy Mystery Book 2 edition by Elisabeth Crabtree Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
This book was a mess. It was difficult or rather, impossible to follow. It made no sense. Nothing about it was good. The story was horrible. The writing of the story was worse. I could never tell who was who and who was speaking or what or who they were talking about. I hardly ever quit a book but this one was terrible. Do not waste your time
Book 2 has Grace and Kyle teamed up again to solve a murder. The only problem is . . . will they solve it before more dead bodies turn up?
"Deadly Reunion" is a great, fun mystery I enjoyed. There are plenty of suspects and a great plot twist.
I highly recommend "Deadly Reunion"!
Thankfully, I didn't pay for this. I honestly don't understand the 5* reviews. Not one of the characters was very well developed, and frankly I didn't care for either Grace, Kyle or Steve. Then there's Grace's twin sister Hope. Nothing likeable about her either.
And the ending of the book is just too abrupt.
I'm not interested enough to buy the follow-up book, or any more books about this author.
The second in this series and somewhat improved from the first. Still needs significant editing and still problems in time frame of novel.
Cozies are supposed to be a slow easy read but this is just too slow. Too much information is being presented about too many characters. With that being said many of the characters are still two dimensional and predictable. There was a fairly good story in there somewhere just waiting for a good editor to find it. I find that odd as her new series doesn't seem to suffer from any of these problems.
Book two takes us back to high school. What would you do if someone got murdered during your reunion? Poor Grace gets dragged into it, due to family. It definitely draws you in just like book one. It was just as great. Had me guessing and trying to figure out who it was, but still got stomped. Then you wonder about her love interest. She had just met Kyle, and it seemed like it would be a good match. Trust me we get it all here as well. Loved the twist and turns, and the dynamics of the investigation was great. Enjoyed it, and think you will too.
I definitely liked this book much better than the first. The characters were better developed. I liked the "good guys" and disliked the "bad guys." I won't go into all the details, because that has already been done. It was a good mystery that kept me guessing to the end. The book was very funny and I enjoyed that even more. Grace's "boss," "assistant," "detective" is a hoot and he kept things moving. I kept waiting for them to be caught up in their lies, but it all worked out in the end. It is a good, clean mystery with few editorial mistakes and I would definitely recommend it.
I like the characters and storylines enough, but keeping the romantic connection at bay this long is ridiculous and unbelievable. These are supposed to be intelligent people. Why keep dancing around a relationship like middle school children? Nobody is going to hide their feelings for someone for that long when there's nothing stopping them from being up front. No significant other, no uptight guardian, nothing. It's just boring. I'm not even talking about sex, I'm just pointing out the total lack of romantic fulfillment. They don't have to jump in the sack, but acknowledging the elephant in the room would be a good start. They are in love with each other. But they are so emotionally challenged, they won't talk about it at all. At least, that's what the reader understands from reading the first two excruciatingly awkward mysteries. I thought book two would wind that up. It didn't, so I'm out.
